1. About Aglet

Aglet is a service operated by Echains that lets users save and organize Instagram Reels. You share Reels by sending them as direct messages to our Instagram account, @aglet.app. Aglet automatically saves them to your personal collection and uses AI to help you search and rediscover them later.

2. Information we collect

From Instagram

When you send Reels to our Instagram account (@aglet.app), we receive:

  • Your Instagram username and Instagram user ID
  • The direct messages you send to @aglet.app that contain Reel attachments — including the Reel's caption, video file, and metadata

From you directly

  • Your email address (if provided)
  • Settings and preferences within Aglet

Automatically

Basic technical data needed to deliver the service (IP address, browser type) used solely to operate Aglet. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers.

3. How we use information

We use your information to:

  • Authenticate you and let you sign in
  • Receive the Reels you share to @aglet.app and save them to your personal Aglet library
  • Process and store Reel videos so you can view them later
  • Use AI to extract place names, food types, activities, and other metadata from each Reel so you can search your saved Reels
  • Operate, secure, and improve Aglet

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not use your data to train AI models.

4. Third-party service providers

We rely on the following service providers to operate Aglet. Each only receives the data they need to perform their service for us, under contractual data processing agreements:

  • Vercel, Inc. (United States) — Hosts and serves the Aglet web application
  • Supabase, Inc. (United States) — Database and authentication storage
  • Cloudinary, Inc. (United States) — Hosts and serves video files extracted from Instagram
  • Hugging Face, Inc. (United States) — Compresses video files before storage
  • Google LLC (United States) — AI extraction of place and content metadata via the Gemini API

5. International data transfers

Aglet is operated from India. Some of our service providers process data in the United States and other regions. Where required, we rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.

6. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your Aglet account is active. If you request deletion, we delete your account and associated data within 30 days.

7. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your account and all associated data
  • Stop sharing data with Aglet at any time by no longer sending Reels to @aglet.app (you can block the account on Instagram)

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@agletapp.com. We respond to verified requests within 30 days.

8. Account and data deletion

To delete your account, email hello@agletapp.com from the email address or Instagram account associated with Aglet. We will confirm your identity, then delete your Aglet account and all stored Reels, captions, video files, and AI-generated metadata.

You can also stop sharing data with Aglet at any time by no longer sending Reels to @aglet.app — you can block the account on Instagram if you prefer. See our data deletion page for full instructions.

9. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), encrypted storage, and access controls. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your data.

10. Children's privacy

Aglet is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe we have collected data from a child under 13, contact us at hello@agletapp.com and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised. Significant changes will be communicated to users via email or in-app notification.
